Sarah Palin, 44, Is First Female Republican Running Mate" CBS News
"McCain Chooses Palin as Running Mate" NYTimes
"Surprise, surprise. John McCain picks Sarah Palin" Christian Science Monitor
Brilliant move by McCain. This shows that he's willing to take risks and change the landscape. I know Obama's Biden pick disappointed many on the left. Biden doesn't excite. It's boring. He's boring. Palin as Vice President of the United States excites. Don't you hear the footsteps of moderate women and Hillary supporters pacing towards the Republican ticket?
Palin is an excellent choice for the base of the Republican party especially conservative, pro-lifers. People have an incredible amount of respect and admiration for her since she chose not to have an abortion after learning she was carrying a child with Down syndrome.
Like Obama, she is inexperienced but at least had gone through difficult executive-level decisions which Obama has never faced. She doesn't have foreign policy experience but doesn't need it. As Vice President, she will learn it all and then be ready for the presidency. As I posted a while ago, I still believe that the first woman President will be from the Republican party.
