Some Cool Sites

HatTip to Sam on informing me about TimeBanks.org.

Time Banks Weave Community One Hour at a Time
For every hour you spend doing something for someone in your community, you earn one Time Dollar. Then you have a Time Dollar to spend on having someone do something for you. It's that simple. Yet it also has profound effects. Time Banks change neighborhoods and whole communities. Time Banking is a social change movement in 22 countries and six continents.

What is Time Banking All About?
At its most basic level, Time banking is simply about spending an hour doing something for somebody in your community. That hour goes into the Time Bank as a Time Dollar. Then you have a Time dollar to spend on having someone doing something for you. It's a simple idea, but it has powerful ripple effects in building community connections.

GOINGON'S NEW HOMEPAGE

Very cool. GoingOn, the company I co-founded, has launched a new homepage. Jon, our new CMO, did a great job.

Also this was done in a low budget manner, which was one of approaches I was advocating before I left several weeks ago. Another executive team member wanted to hire a design shop and spend $150,000 - $250,000 while others thought a few thousand would be good enough for the resources we had. I think I few thousand did a good job :)

Anyway, check it out and learn more about GoingOn here, especially if you're looking for a private-label social media (online community) platform.
