A bit late, but a good analysis and breakdown by this Bears fan. I was a doubter of Cutler until the news about the MRI injury. This video provides a little more redemption for Culter, so if you're a Bears fan take a look.

Toshiba Tablet Powered by Android
Looks like Toshiba did a pretty kickass job on their tablet. Great commercial too.

Eggsploitation Nominated for Best Documentary
From the Center for Bioethics & Culture Network...
Eggsploitation has been nominated for Best Documentary in the 2011 California Independent Film Festival Slate Awards. The 13th annual California Independent Film Festival opens January 28, 2011 at the New Rheem Theatre in Moraga, CA, and runs through February 3. Eggsploitation is scheduled to show Tuesday, February 1 at 6:15PM in the Zemrak Theatre.
Jennifer Lahl, President of the Center for Bioethics and Culture Network and writer, director, and producer of Eggsploitation said, “We are thrilled with the news that our film is being considered for such an award, especially because it will draw more attention to the issue of egg donation and the health risks to young women. California is often referred to as the ’reproductive tourist capital of the world‘ and it is fitting that the film will be shown in the California Independent Film Festival.”
Eggsploitation profiles three highly educated young women — Calla, Alexandra, and Sindy — who suffered extreme health consequences related to their egg “donation.” Dangerous health complications can occur during the egg donation process as a result of taking high doses of fertility drugs, during the egg retrieval surgery, or both. Their disturbing testimonies about their experience with egg donation are a wake-up call regarding a highly unregulated, multi-billion-dollar industry that jeopardizes the health of young women.
The film has received international attention, with sales and showings in more than 12 countries. In addition, Eggsploitation is making a big push on university campuses across the United States, where egg donation ads heavily target young women. This spring, Eggsploitation is scheduled to show at Columbia, Fordham, Yale, and Notre Dame Law Schools, as well as at Loyola-Marymount, Boston College, and many more.
For more information about the film and the issue of egg donation, and to view the trailer and clips from the film, visit www.eggsploitation.com

Pretty kickass since I know Jennifer, Evan and others worked on a shoestring budget to make this film that they passionately wanted to get into the public domain. Also check out the trailer:

Groupon will become the Sarah Palin of tech, and other predictions for 2011
My 4th annual technology prediction piece is up over at VentureBeat. Check it out!
Groupon will become the Sarah Palin of tech, and other predictions for 2011
2011 will be a year of economic recovery and continued drama in Silicon Valley, marked by the hyped battles of Apple vs. Google, Google vs. Facebook, and Oracle vs. the rest of the enterprise world. Without further ado, here is the 4th annual edition of my technology predictions.
The Groupon Juggernaut Will Slow Down
Groupon is quickly becoming the Sarah Palin of the technology world. It has its haters (Forrester’s Sucharita Mulpuru), doubters (Flybridge Capital’s Jeff Bussgang) and fans (FM’s John Battelle) like the former vice presidential candidate. Everyone seems to have an opinion of Groupon, whether through their own personal experiences or spurred by a coffee talk at Coupa Café in Palo Alto. Being from Chicago, where the company is based, I wanted to be a fan, but I have strong doubts on the sustainability of its business model. It will remain successful, but will it be the next Amazon or “Google of e-commerce” as many people predict? I just don’t see it. Maybe its critical mass and huge funding rounds will sustain its market share for a couple years, but the competitive barriers of entry are too low, so I predict its revenue growth will begin to slow towards the end of 2011. A few years from now, this darling of the ecommerce space will be a fading memory... (full article)

Peek at Honeycomb, Android 3.0
Very cool preview video below. And yes, Christine went to Las Vegas/CES for work (she's part of the Android team). I had to sacrifice and stay home with our girls, eat by myself, and have access to unlimited ESPN and Starcraft2... poor me. More from Andy Rubin and the Google Mobile Blog here.
