Randomly I came across VentureBlog's post mentioning that Meez is the most adopted third party Facebook application. It's an avatar service that launched last year along with a few other competitors, but it's interesting to see how avatars have really taken off this year.
And I have to mention that this is something I predicted back in January 2005 in my old column at AlwaysOn (this link is to an OhMyNews copy since the old AlwaysOn site was taken down), "Where Technology Is Ubiquitous, Opportunity Abounds" :)
